Not the face of optimism considering the previous experiences. TL;DR not the protein bar for me.
Nutrition Information: Once again, quite good: 209cals C8/ P20/ F8.2.
Texture: Same as the others, reallyyy soft. Too soft for me to enjoy. Where on earth they got the ‘crumble’ description from is beyond me. Not chewy like some other bars which is its only redemption.
Taste: As with the others, smell hits you first. This one smelled damn GOOD. Hint of nutella there. COULD THIS BE THE GAME CHANGER?!
Apparently not, because it does not taste how it smells. Now, at the start the taste was okay, kinda mild. Very slight nutty taste, over powered by ‘chocolate’ which is sweet, but again, with that weird off- taste behind it. Whole bar was kinda offputting for me. Disappointed. As I was going through it I was thinking ‘okay this isn’t so bad’ but by the end I was like ‘no… this bar needs to end’. The weird cheesy after taste is not as intense as cookie dough or Reflex R bars, but defo still an off-taste present.
Summary: Will not be buying these bars again. BUT… I have heard that other people enjoy them. This is just my opinion, if you disagree with me let me know! 😀 Everyone’s tastes are different so bear in mind; just because I didn’t like them doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try them 😀
Ooh the face of apprehension after the disappointment of the previous bar.
Nutrition Information: It’s good with Cals 214. C8.1/ P20 /F 8.3. Again not crazy competitive with some other bars out there, but still good.
Texture: Same as the previous bar. Really soft; almost squishy. Again the flavour looks like it’s divided into layers, with the ‘cream’ part running through the centre of the bar. The texture is quite unappealing honestly, it’s too soft and not the kind of ‘bar’ texture I enjoy.
Taste: Okay, it’s an improvement on Cookie Dough for sure. The sweetness still tastes ‘off’ to me. The ‘cheesy’ after-taste is absent, though there is still some weird off-taste. Different flavours hit you with different bites. The creamy parts are quite vanilla-y..nice enough. The rest of the flavour is definitely not cookie. Especially compared to other cookies & cream bars on the market. Not even close. Also they say that there’s “cocoa flavoured chunks”.. none that I could find!
Not enjoyable for me, but it’s an improvement on the previous bar…
Nutritional Information: 212 calories: 8.4 carb, 8.1 fat, 20 protein. Low carb, high in fiber (15g), good all around.
The packaging has a bunch of ‘enticing’ stuff on it including ‘sweetened with stevia’ great!… BUT, look at ingredients list. The bar is also sweetened with malitol & sucralose. Not a big deal but it irks me that they’ve chosen to highlight the stevia element on the packaging despite using other sweeteners too. ANYWAY. Important shtuff…
Texture: Really soft, kinda skwidgey. Very little bite there, as it’s SO soft. Kind of weird texture overall. Not chewy like other bars, so +1 for that. The bar is a bit strange looking; colour is in layers/ not mixed properly (see corner pic?)
Taste: Noticed smell first; very vanilla-y with after-hint of cookie. Taste isn’t great. It’s like they tried to get cookie dough.. but failed and still went with it. It’s not very sweet like other bars, the sweetness tastes off in some way. There’s a weird after taste… almost cheesy/idk (VERY similar to Reflex R-bars after taste.) No choc chip chunks though it claims ‘cocoa chunks’ in description. Very disappointing.
2/10 Would not buy again. If you want to try it, buy 1 first before committing to box.
(Ps.sorry not sorry about state of my nail varnish 😂)
